This is the time of year that we start to set up and prepare for the holiday season. Time to dust off the Christmas tree and set up the lights, right? Some of us love the holidays but maybe we do not want the hassle of decorating the whole house from top to bottom.
Maybe you are an empty nester with no little ones at home or you will be traveling for the holidays. You can still decorate your home and get that cozy holiday spirit with simple touches you can add to your home and mainly used spaces.
Follow these decorating tips below.
Main Living Spaces- Create a Focal Point
In every room there is a focal point, you can focus on making this into a statement piece. Center your decor around the focal point like the fireplace mantel, coffee table or bookcases. Add in one large statement piece or decorate with a few key items to showcase the focal point of the room.
Add in Some Lights Around Your House
Add in some holiday lights and candles to your space. Just a little goes a long way, you can create a very festive and cozy environment in your home. Place a string of white lights around your table center pieces, in glass jars, around the fireplace mantel or around your coffee table. Candles can add in a nice ambiance to your room as well as a nice holiday scent. Holiday candles can set the mood with nice rich aromas that fill your senses. If you prefer a fake candle, try an led candle that has a realistic flame flicker and an adjustable timer.
Decorate Your Porch
Decorate your outdoor space with holiday styled wreaths, flowers and lights. You can add a lot of holiday cheer to your outdoor spaces with just a few pieces. One or two well placed items can really add in the right amount of holiday decor for your patio or porch. Add in a string of white lights, a door wreath and a poinsettia plant. Simple and elegant for your holiday decor.
