The month of October saw a huge demand for single family homes, leading to a fourth quarter record-breaking month of home sales for Central Texas. ABOR released the October 2018 Central Texas Housing Market Report , showing strong sales generating over $900 million.
Fourth quarter sales helped to make October a solid record breaking month for the Central Texas Housing Market. Austin-Round Rock Metro Area The Austin-Round Rock area saw an increase of over 3% in new home listings. During the same time period active listings saw an 8% increase and pending sales increased 2.8%. "Market demand for new homes in the Austin area continues to be robust this fall, especially in price points below $300,000,” Vaike O’Grady, Austin regional director for MetroStudy, said. City of Austin The Austin area saw positive gains as well with 7.8% increase in home sales.
The Austin area median home price rose to 3.7% increase, bringing the single-family home price to $377,000. Williamson County Homes sales for the month of October had a slight decrease in home sales volumes by 0.5 percent but home sales prices increased by 3.3 percent to $242,949,724 from the same time last year. Active listings increased over 12% and pending sales increased by 2%. The median sales price for a single-family home went up t0 $242,949,724 from last October.
